if you want to know what a typical afternoon with Scott and me is like, here: please watch the first two minutes of this scene from A New Leaf.
In case you're wondering: yes, Scott's the Walter Matthau character. And when he's not fixing my clothes, he's cutting the tags hanging off me or pulling food out of my hair. Unlike the Walter Matthau character, he doesn't want me dead. I am quite lucky.
If you haven't seen A New Leaf, all I can say is: What? Oh, no. You must get right on that.

I just wanted to thank you for your blog and your involvement with the other social media outlets that you participate in. You are funny, honest, touching and real. I am so excited when I see a new momversation and you are on it, because I just can't wait to see what your reaction is to the topic. I find myself nodding along to your blog, because I just get it and my life seems to mimic so much of what you are writing about. My son is so similar sounding to your son. Lego lovin', card carrying drama king that has two food groups he will choose from. An only child that knows how good he has it and parents that are a bit flummoxed by the whole thing. Your writing always gives me a nice jolt in the morning and I can't wait for your book!

I LOVE that movie- although my favorite part is when he says "NO, DON'T LET THEM OUT!" when the big boobed lady is going to take off her swimming top :)

My first big laugh of the morning! I cracked up at the nightgown scene. My husband is also good at keeping me groomed and presentable. Last week my fly was down in a restaurant...and I always, always have food on my shirt. It is a trait I attribute to my tendency to live inside my head. What? My fly is down? Oh! I forgot I was even wearing pants!
Thanks for the laugh!

I'll get right on that.
I love waking up, and having my awesome buddy Alice waiting for me.
This has been such a treat, getting to read you so much. I love the new leaf you've turned over!

I absolutely love A New Leaf, and I could listen to Walter Mathau speak forever. He has one of those voices that makes me want to curl up for storytime. Thanks Alice!

Is that Elaine May? Why have I never seen this?
I'm looking forward to your book, too, Alice! How's chapter 12 looking?

I'm sorry, I was distracted by the hunk of solid muscle on the left there. What were we talking about again?

Wow. Yeah, I had a similar problem WITH MY GOD DAMN WEDDING DRESS ON MY WEDDING DAY. Dress not as strange - but the toga meets nightgown situation I had going on proved more complicated than anticipated. Did not "have my head through the armhole" but "did not in fact have my ARM through THE ARMHOLE" which, let's just say, wasn't so pretty. Sigh. . . leave it to me to screw up my wedding gown!

That was hilarious! My husband is often wiping crumbs off me or pointing out that my tank top is inside out, too.

Oh thank you, I needed a good cry. And yes, I must get right on that. Thanks for alerting me to the movie.

I had forgotten all about that fabulous movie - now I need to rent it to refresh my recollection. Damn -- good stuff!
Also - I don't for a minute believe you are that out of it. It's all good - you were probably just having a bad day, honey.

"It's very uncomfortable. I can hardly move."
I'm gonna say that to everybody.
OMG, that made me laugh hard.

Maybe your life and unhappy! But please do not lose heart! Should always be a special kind of God! Not always give you all kinds of hardships
